MSc Student (09/2023-)

Owen is pursuing a MSc degree in Geography and Environmental management, where he is studying Pulse Type Glaciers in the Canadian High Arctic. This research will be done primarily using remote sensing techniques and satellite observations. This work will be motivated by Owen’s previous bachelor’s degree in geomatics with a minor in peace and conflict studies at the university of Waterloo. Using these degrees Owen seeks to use remote sensing techniques to gain further information about the surrounding world with a goal of translating research findings into policy decisions.
Outside of Academia, Owen serves on the EGSA as Vice President acting as a foundational member in the community. During the winter Owen is often found tearing up the ski hills or exploring local hiking trails in the off season.
